Let me tell you a bit about why I became a professional organizer.

 I've always liked to be organized.  So, it was no surprise to my friends and family when I began working in a library in high school. I have spent 32 years working in libraries, first as a paraprofessional, then after getting my Master's degree in Library and Information Science, as a reference and children's librarian in both public and college libraries for the past 15 years.

I also have 3 kids, all teens now, and as a family of five, I found out early on that I needed a lot of organization to keep track of everyone's belongings and schedules, as well as a tight spending budget.  I know firsthand how frustrating it can be to see how quickly a space can go from neat and clean to looking like a stampede rode through when you weren't looking :)

Extra challenges to organization and time management, that I know many of you may be struggling with as well, include my son's ADHD and continually finding ways to help him get better organized at home and at school, and assisting aging parents in the task of downsizing a life-time of furnishings and memories from their long-time home into a smaller assisted living facility.

I decided in 2014 that since I have spent years honing my organizational skills helping family and friends become more organized on a tight budget using a lot of ingenuity and easy to follow techniques, I really wanted to put all of my organizing talents to use helping even more people. So, I joined NAPO - the National Association of Productivity and  Organizing Professionals, learned even more organization skills through their classes, did a lot of research on my own and started my own organizing business and blog, which has allowed me to teach others how to gain time, save money, and have peace of mind through becoming organized themselves.
